Anyone having Datura Stramonium to sell now? Regards

Answers

You cannot be serious?1?! This plant is lethal! I know it as Devil's trumpet. Due to halucigenic properties of the leaves etc, I have flagged this question. I apologise if your query is innocent, and I have over-reacted, but this is not a plant recommended for gardens. Classed as a weed in and by garbage dumps and fields.

Please edit your question, Meena, and remove your telephone number. You are leaving yourslef open to all sorts of unwanted calls from web users worldwide. If anyone from GoY want's to contact you personally they can do it via a personal message

GoY itself does not sell plants you would need to check on-line nurseries though I think it is highly unlikely you will find anyone selling this annual weed. I second Bulba's advice t oeit your question and remove your phone number before any number of oddballs and rogues start calling you.

Thank you for your replies, I know about the toxicity of the plant. It is used for some medicinal purposes . Please do share if any one has the plant specially the black Datura.

If you are a gardener then surely you know that there are better Datura to grow as ornamental than this! I have seeds for D.metel and D.wrightii - next time that you are in the Oxford area send me a pm and I'll arrange for you to collect some.........

Is that the 'proper' datura? flowers face upwards - white? They do grow like weeds! Better i think, are the Brugmansias - (see my avatar and last photo on page 2 of my photos) I love these plants! they flower like mad - if you keep them in large pots and feed with plenty of flower food, all summer. I once had 200 flowers on one plant all at once! Obviously don't eat it - just as you would not eat a laburnum or yew tree! There are so many varieties as well - if you can track down someone local to you, take cuttings as soon as there is enough green shoots in spring. They are excellent for growing as standards. We usually leave one outside our window in a border so that on warmer days we can have the heavenly scent wafting indoors - once as late as New Year!! Good luck!

Hello - I do apologise for over-reacting to your question, but am happy to say that I have some seed pods for you of the white (thorn apple) variety. Spoke to a friend of mine who admonished me appropriately for my reaction and promptly provided a plant with 3 pods on. Send me a PM with your address and I will be happy to post to you.
