I see these plants advertised for sale 'Root Stock' What is different to buying them in a pot and growing?

It probably means 'bare rooted' which means the plant will come in a dormant state with no pot an no soil meaning you will have to pot it yourself. This method makes it easier to package the plant and reduces weight.

Yes, they have a tuberous rootstock which can be treated like a bulb. It will be dormant at the moment. The tubers are quite small so don't expect a big parcel!
