Does the Arum Lily have a meaning?



Arum Lily, Zantedeschia, Calla. Family Aracae from South Africa. Commerates Giovanni Zantedeschia, Italian botanist.
Grown for Easter for the altar in church, in the days before everything was all the year round.

Hello Flins
Just had a good google, but am a bit confused. The name arum means arrow-shaped, sort-of, or "spathe" ie the hood shape that surrounds the flower?
This may or may not be called a spadix.
