I leave mine on , but sometimes it depends on the seeds you are planting as they will take better at different temperatures.At this time of year on is best .

we have tomato plants growing in our's , and we turn the prop off during the day and switch it back on at night. but we waited until they were 1-2 inches tall before doing this.

I leave mine on all the time during this time of year. During the day, I would ventilate the plants by either taking the top off or opening the circle vents on the top. It completely depends on what you are growing
