Laurel hedging - Advice from my trusted experienced gardeners required. I planted a laurel hedge last year from pot grown laurels and in height they have grown about a foot which is great but I was wondering what the best way is to make them more bushy - do I need to cut the tops off or individual branches and if so where and how would you cut them.

Being so young i would let them get going a little more, once they grow a bit more and bulk up then by trimming the sides and top will encourage the laurel to thicken up, keep them watered.

I would pinch the tips and feed them, though it may be a bit late to feed in the UK.
