If it needs to be in a container, make it a big one, around 3 feet tall and wide, and be prepared to do some creative pruning on it to maintain bloom and fruit. Reading books about bonsai growing would be beneficial. Remember also that trees in containers need more frequent watering and feeding than those in the ground.
