I have seyval blanc vine planted against the south side of my house and must be about 20 years old. It produces a mass of grapes each year but my concern is about any damage the roots may cause to my property. It is trained well away from the wall along a metal framework about 20 feet long and therefore the top growth is not a problem. It looks spectacular at this time of year but I wonder if I should think of removing the vine to be on the safe side.

Many thanks.

Not sure of varieties, but in this region almost every village casa has its own vine growing VERY close to the casa walls. Many of the villages are hundreds of years old, so I would say root problems are not an issue.

How do I say thanks?
