Compost for potatoes

Can I use the free compost from the recycling plant to grow early potatoes in containers?

Hello Pinkbob, welcome to GOY.
I would be very careful with that source of compost, it may contain toxic elements which will taint the flavour of your potatoes. Use the free compost on flowers and shrubs. Get a trade brand from your garden centre for your potatoes.
