Wood / coal ash

We're having a wood-burning stove installed. I've heard that wood ash is good for the garden as it can enrich the soil, but as the new stove is dual fuel (i.e. burns both wood and coal) would the ash still be suitable?

yes i would you just dont want to smother ya plants in it.to much of a good thing

I don't think coal ash is good for plants. Some people say a small amount is ok, but i would not risk it.
