No, frankly - the berries are mildly toxic if ingested, but it may be that some people will react to the plant if skin contact is established, but its not known for it. I react to some conifers if I brush against them, but most people don't.

I actually know of a few others that do like you Bamboo - must have expensive skin ;-)

I have loads of experience with viburnums but haven't ever had a skin reaction - have a look and see what plants are near it and that might have been touched at the same time because it could be something else.
