Advice please re reviving struggling ferns!. i have 2 ferns that are really struggling, wilting and going brown they are in a shaded area with no other plants around. the soil is very heavy clay in some areas but we did add organic matter before planting. my plan is to dig them up and put them in pots to revive them. any advice re potting compost miox and care? thanks

Water is the, new ferns will need a lot of water whilst they settle themselves in. I wouldn't dig them up as you will disturb the roots again.

The soil is not as important as the moisture level for most ferns. If they were new, I would check for vine weevil.
