Now, as long as the ground isn't frozen! If in doubt, leave it until early spring. Late autumn is the best time when the soil is still warm, really, but it should be fine still - I hope!

I would second that. Oct. Nov. would have been better. I would wait.

i would third that ! trees and shrubs are ideally planted in automn till end of winter but not in frozen ground, skimmia is a tough cookie and wont mind a bit.
