is it the time of year to plant geums? are they perennial.I have seen them in magazines and would like to try them

Yes they are perennials and very nice ones too. They are best in a fairly sunny spot. And it's a good idea to mark where you planted them because they completely disappear in winter and it's easy to go digging and forget they are there.
