Hi

We have a well established ivy plant which is invading everything else,its got to go whats the quickest kindest way?

there isn't a quick, kind solution. Cut back with sharp secateurs or loppers where necessary, pulling the growths off tree trunks, fences, and out of the ground if possible. If its old ivy with a thick trunk in places and you want to kill it off, you'll need to use a brushwood killer - this means drilling holes into the woody stumps/roots and filling the holes up with the product (SBK is the one I use). Dig out smaller roots where possible.

I had an Ivey and they do get out of control. As mentioned there is no kind solution. Just make sure you get rid of it all as they can easily grow back. Good luck.
