Hello i have two Clematis one is Montana the other not known both seem to have developed wilt one is dead the other is wilted can you say what is wrong ive kept well watered and in sunny position

Also clematis like to be planted deeply and with the roots in the shade and heads in the sun, (although I have a few growing happily in semi shade). Agree lots of water and they also thrive on rose feed.

wilt is actually uncommon. Any slug damage lower down the stems? Also as the plants get bigger their water demand will be considerable, so they may just need more water.
