I have just come back from a weeks holiday to find my lawn infested with ants, can you suggest any way to get rid of them? Thank you

I particularly hate ants, I have sandy fine soil and they love it, I especially hate it when they find their way into my house ( usually when they want to be flying ants)

I use Ant traps which I buy from DIY or Garden Centres. These do seem to work.
