Hi. Thinking of gravel garden with area of raised beds for vegetable & herb growing...
it can be hard digging but depends on how much you enjoy it. once the turf is removed I'd put down a weed suppressant membrane then add the gravel. 5cm deep as a bare minimum really. it also depends if you intend to drive on it. If you do then I'd put hard core down first then the gravel.
