yes it is a silverfish. they are wingless insects and have been around for millions of years. they feed on plant remains in the wild but in houses especially kitchens on starchy residues like flour paper etc.

What would call 'Silverfish'. Not common but in a house could be found by a fireplace or other dry, dusty place.
