Please could you tell me if my Salic Kilmarnock can stay in a pot on my patio?

You'll need to pot it into something larger, possibly annually but certainly biennially, and it will inevitably get to a point where its too big to be in a pot any longer.

Depends on the size of the pot, remember your salix wants to grow into a tree. In a pot it is going to need a lot of watering and attention that it wouldn't need in the ground.
