Photinia × fraseri 'Red Robin' can be grown in a pot but it will quickly outgrow it so you will have to pot it on fairly regularly. You will also need to be on the ball so to speak with watering and feeding. Will do better in the ground. You can however grow a dwarf variety, 'Little Red Robin' in a container.
