I have a small clump of narcissus 'Tete-a-tete' in one part of my garden. For next spring, I plan to add a lot more to make more of an impression. What I would like to know is if anyone has a similarly small narcissus, with white flowers, that blooms at the same time as Tete-a-tete'?

I've not come across any and I did look a couple of years ago. Toto is similar but I didn't find that they flowered at the same time. though Parkers claim toto is a white tete et tete.

They don't have to be multi-headed, just flower at the same time.

N. Minnow is another and have you considered bi colours like N.canaliculatus, white petals with a golden yellow cup shaped crown.

Thanks Sbg. I'm not ruing out white and yellow ones. I'm just looking to plant one or two small clumps of something that will contrast with a predominant planting of Tete-a-tete.

Yes, Ian has a lot of interesting plants he has bred and is now trialing. Corydalis 'Craigton Clumper' is a good blue one that is now available from a few nurseries.

we went to Greenbank garden in Glasgow today. I spotted Mitzy a lovely dwarf daff. It is not pure white more creamy coloured but might interest you. I spoke to the gardener. They do not sell them but she thought they would be widely available in autumn. It is shown very well on Owdboggy's photos dated 4.3.10. When I googled it I came across this site. There are quite a few white narcissus - Elka, Fuko, Xit, Picoblanco, Pledge, Mitzy is there too. http://s409107849.websitehome.co.uk/acatalog/narcissus_d.html
