Did a lot of soil fall off when you took it out of the old pot? If so, you could try pruning it back by 1/3, and watering with a solution of seaweed extract. Good luck, most conifers aren't very forgiving once they wilt.

True! But I figured, "Since the deed is done...." I have moved shrubs in the summer, but it takes near perfect technique, and a bit luck.

Living where you are the tree will have been under stress for several months due to the drought, unless you have been watering regularly before and after repotting this is probably the proverbial 'straw that broke the camel's back'. Repotting needs to be done in spring or autumn. All you can do now is what Tugb. has suggested and keep very well watered.
