In the trough the red flowers are tulips growing with daffodils. The second picture shows a wallflower in a pot.

yes I agree. the wall flower is probably the bedding type so you can throw it a way after it has flowered. the tulips and mini daffs will flower next year as they are bulbs.

Thank you.I did not think the red flower was a tulip as it is nothing like one,is it another type? Why throw away the wallflower???? I got it as a very small plant which was growing along the edge of the conservatory where I wad spending a break in Wales..I pulled a few up and kept a couple,they have been outside all winter and have grown well
So it seems a shame to just "throw" it away.

Theoretically, Wallflowers are biennials (they grow the first year, flower the second and then die). Fortunately they don't read books and some can go on for several years.

There are vartious flower shapes for tulips - even some with shaggy frilly edges to the petals (parrot tulips)
Try putting "Tulip varieties" into Google and have a look at all the pictures!
