hi i have an azalia in a tub and would like to know if i should prune it right down or leave it as it is thank you

Agree. The best time to prune is as soon as the flowers fade in the spring.

I have never pruned an azalea and never would, unless part of it had been killed off.

Leave it as it is. Pruning now would remove the buds which will flower in Spring.
