I have q a large fuchsia shrub in my garden it is still in bloom. It is getting to large and hiding other plants.
I would like to prune back can this be done in the autumn so I can see other plants or will I have to wait to spring ?

And the reason for waiting until spring is that the top growth helps to protect the crown, so if you really must prune it hard make sure you give it a good thick mulch. If it gets really large perhaps either that or the other plants are not in the best place - do you know which variety it is? Is it one of the tall small flowered ones that can be used for low hedges in the south, or one of the smaller larger flowered ones? And where you live in the country can make a difference too - you haven't filled in your county on your profile.

I cut it back a bit + then really cut it back early spring

Wait until you can see new shoots appearing at the base of the plant. If you do it too early you might still get frost damage.

you could reduce it in the autumn but the best time is in the spring.
