Mmm! Leaf Cutting Bee's maybe"? They do this to my Rose leaves. Try and sit in your garden while having a cuppa & watch the bee's. I have some old rotten logs in my garden where they have made holes in & they cut the bits off the leaves and take them into the tunnels they have made, I can see little piles of sawdust on the ground where they have been tunnelling too.
Shame they have been munching their way through your garden though, that is if it is bee's?

I'd have said Leaf Cutters too. I'll check my pile of logs to see if they've left any tell tale signs.

I have a lot of bee's but haven't seen any cutting the leaves. I take it there is nothing I can do if it is, just have to accept it ?

That damage is typical of adult vine weevil - looks like you've a heavy infestation. If your plants are growing in the ground, it might be worth trying a nematode solution, especially if your soil isn't heavy clay. Google 'nemesys' and select the one for vine weevil. Unfortunately, you can't use a Provado drench in the ground, its valuable in pots, but not open ground. See link below for more info

:( I did have vine weevil in my pots and used Provado and managed to salvage a lot of my plants luckily. I will look at the link thank you.

Well, I thunked that too, but since folks were so positive I did not like to argue.
Definitely a need to go out at in the evening and find the little b...er darlings and stamp on them.

Ah, I was going to say, if you have any potted plants, you'd better treat the soil in those too...

Nemesys has been ordered, thanks for the advice. I take it my best bet is to treat the whole garden annually as a matter of course ?

I too thought vine weevil damage. leaf cutter bees cut out a perfect smooth circle and roll it up an pop a larva in it to pupate.
