Could we see a photo of the leaves, please? Preferably open, they are still folded in this photo.

We've had a bit of research this afternoon, and we think its Prunus Tenella. Russian Almond.

That is a definite possibility. We were looking at one yesterday and yours is very similar.

Sorry, never seen it before or heard of the suggested names, Karen.

Enjoy your holiday, Karen. Whilst you are in Kingston go across to the mouth of the Spey. There are a lot of 'winter ducks', Longtails etc, gathering at the moment ready to migrate back to the Arctic for thier breeding season.
We would have invited you over for a visit but it was our annual show show in Nairn yesterday and today we are down to Grantown for an overnighter.

Thank you BA. We did indeed cycle over to Spey Bay in the sunshine, and returned in the rain! Then, after a visit to a local pottery and cafe, we drove through a snow blizzard to Keith and then on the train through a scene resembling Narnia all the way to Dyce! The rest of the journey was less eventful, but frost on the cars this morning. How is it at yours?

Like spring on the coast, Karen, but on Sunday afternoon we had to drive across the Dava Moor to Grantown. I have never seen the snow so deep on the road up there and, unfortunately, a number of cars ahead of us were less capable than us of coping with conditions and blocked the road. We turned round and went via Inverness and the A9 which itself had been closed just a short while earlier. Two hours for a half hour trip! On the other side of the hill Grantown, Aviemore and Cairngorm had no more than a smear.

Gosh, I'm sorry you had such an awful trip BA, but wasn't it amazing. It was the most snow I've seen all winter! It's cold here today as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see a flake or two. I've been across to Perth to the Linden Garden centre for some water plants and a few for around the pond and it was sunny all the way there which was lovely. Sadly it has now become very grey. I've been out and planted my Tellima, which I gifted a piece of to my Moray friend and now has come back to me for this garden, but I can't summon up the energy for planting the rest of my purchases. Luckily the water plants only needed to be chucked in and lowered in to the pond. :)

How do I say thanks?
