Hi everyone. I have been gardening, mostly veg, for 40 years. When it comes to flowers, not so sure. Can you plant roses this late in the year if so, bare root or potted? Would appreciate your advice. Thanks.

It's a little late for bare root - they should be planted in late winter/early spring, by end of March really. You could chance it, if you can find a supplier who's prepared to send them, reputable ones won't past a certain date. As for potted roses, yes, you can plant those now or at any time, but remember they should be kept watered during hotter, dry spells.
