Iris - Anyone hazard a guess as to the identity of this lovely little Iris I found today on my rockery?

Hi, I think it could be, I reticulata 'J.S.Dijt', but there again there are hundreds to choose from, Derek.

I 'think' it is George - take a look at this image, you'll need to copy and paste the link:

Hi Mg, I think you may be right, Derek.

J.S.Dijt and George have the same colour flowers, but the latter has broader petals.

Thanks guys. Agree, it's very difficult to tell but I'm going to adjudge that 'J.S'Dijt' has just shaded it - probably because it's a more exotic name!

J.S.Dijt may sound more exotic but it is far more likely to be George... especially if you bought the corms in a GC. At least this iris does not have the weird colour combinations of some of the modern crosses!

I'd go for George too. JS Dijt is much narrower and more angular in the petals.

Agreed SBG

Another reason to think it's George - my J.S. Dijt are not in flower yet, but George has been blooming for about a week now.

How do I say thanks?
