Lavender. Once it has finished flowering give it a light trim, making sure not to cut into the old woody stems.

Not sure if I am right but it looks like a very overgrown lavender

Now would be a perfect time to make cuttings from all that young growth on the ends of the branches as you trim it. Take shoots about four or so inches long and insert each around the edge of a large pot of very gritty compost. Within a month they will have rooted and you will have lots of new plants for next year. Don't let the cuttings dry out and keep them out of direct sunlight for the first couple of weeks.

I love lavender and have about 5 in my garden. I will certainly follow this advice to get more so thanks for that Bertiefox :-)

Definitely a leggy, woody, old Lavender. Not one I'd keep - I'd replace it with a new one and keep the new one trimmed back twice a year to prevent that legginess.

How do I say thanks?
