something hardy for a large square garden container, currently has a large cordyline which is getting very woody, any suggestions for a replacement please.

Dependent on size of pot.......a variety of large different coloured leaved Heuchera plants. Most don't mind sun or shade and are hardy. May need attention after a couple of years as they tend to raise up and get woody in the middle. Read Vicki's blog on them and how to keep them in good condition.
