O.k., the guy who told me how to do itis not back yet but as I remember it as follows -
1. Hold the ipad in landscape fashion.
2. Make sure the photo lens is at the top.
3 take the picture.
If this fails due to my bad memory please let me know and I'll eat humble pie and ask him again.

That's interesting - if you use one of the folding ipad covers it means that you have the cover as if you were going to stand the ipad on a table (I like the cover folded at the top as it makes nice 'handle' when taking photos).

this also doesn't help if you want something in portrait (though it may be having the lens at the top is the key!) and you still have the problem, for GoY at least, that ipad photos are just too big to upload.
