I have an agapanthus that was totally pot bound - had to break the pot to free it - and I put it in the ground last Autumn. It's definitely not looking like it's going to flower, and one of the bits of the base where it flowered last year has gone gungy. I tried to cut out the gungy bit, and it smells. Is it agonna? I really love it...

This last winter was probably hard on it. I would dust the crown liberally with cinnamon, and feed it lightly with a low phosphate fertilizer, say a mixture of fish emulsion and seaweed extract. It may still flower this year.

As long as there are green leaves growing it will be OK, but you may not get flowers this year. I hope that you didn't plant it too deeply?

Previous question
I had the same problem and had to break the pot. Half of the plant was rotton but I repotted it and its leafing up so it might flower. They are temperamental and might not flower this year, maybe next.
