I have never been able to get to grips with Orchids and I have just been given another one. This one has lots of flowers but very thin roots. The other ones I have had, and infact still have one at the moment, has quite succulent roots. Is the watering process different? How do you recommend watering either type? Any other hints on keeping them from dropping would be very helpful

Hi Eileen! You are such a lucky person... Orchids are the largest family of flowing plants.... there are soooo many, it's staggering. I suggest that you simply type
"orchids" into your browser and you will have many, many sites to look at with instructions from breeders and growers alike... there's plenty of info out there...
the best way to determine what you have is by posting a -picture of the plant, it's roots or it's blooms here on goY...
