I found these in a dog bowl left overnight. They seem to be faeces rather than berries or seeds. Any ideas what might have left them?

Doesn't look like faeces to me... with that patterning more like sweeties of some description.

I worked it out - they're caterpillar poos! Do a google image search and you'll see lots of photos the same.

I assume that you didn't put wet pet food in the bowl a couple of days previously. It looks like dried up food cubes.
