Oxalis.
Thinking about your replies to my query re this plant.
The obvious reason why my small veg plot is infested with this weed is because that is where I spread my compost.
Compost made partly from previous weedings of this plant - it obviously survives the composting process.
So, destroy after weeding,
Les

Quite right, Les. Some weeds should never go into the home compost bin. I am very selective about what I compost (it still doesn't work :-() and stuff like couch grass roots and oxalis go as a present to the local authority.

There was a recent post regarding composting Les and suggestions for generating heat through the natural biological process when waste is broken down to kill off perennial weeds. Whether it will be enough to kill off Oxalis I don't know as this is a tough weed to get rid of.

No, the stuff survives the commercial composting process and no home heap can generate that sort of heat, unless like them you are prepared to turn and water every day.

How do I say thanks?
