I planted two pear trees last year from rootball. They have taken to the ground and this year started to flower however the flowers have gone off and there is no sign of any fruit starting to grow. Is this normal in the early years of a pear tree.

Perhaps you put this question on twice by mistake as I think I've seen some replies. In case you didn't see them the answer is that pears take a long time to start fruiting.
