I start my peppers in a propagator but not until march as when they have germinated they need warmth and my greenhouse is unheated, I use a multipurpose and sieve out the big bits-- probably not correct but ihave a good crop normally

i sow mine march/april in bog standard multi purpose compost. i have also done them in growbag compost before too. both worked well.
