Some are and some aren't, Teetop. One, in our garden, is Rhododendron 'Delicatisma' which is filling the garden with scent but many others have no scent at all.

I am always disappointed when of them don't. just like the scentless roses.

I must put in a word for R. 'Polar Bear'. Possibly the most intoxicating scent of all.

They can grow big, mind.

And some of the deciduous azalea types rival the daphnes, plus you get autumn colour.
