I don't think it's shield fern, i think it's adiantum, can anyone confirm?

I think it is rather more likely to be Nephrolepis.

It looks like Polypody one of our native ferns. If indoors suggest you keep it cool.

I have a Boston fern (Nephrolepis?) and the leaves are very different on this..

Adiantum pedatum - Owdboggy has a photo of a form of this.

i,ve looked at all the suggestions and googled them, I noticed that some places have different names for the same types of ferns??? some places advertise boston fern when it,s not boston fern but is a member of the Nephrolepis ferns.
it makes it hard to identify ferns if companies selling them get the name wrong.
without G.O.Y members help i,d have been stuck, but i,d have to agree with Fractal and say it is one of the Nephrolepis ferns.

Glad a decision has been reached - that Fractal's a wise one.

Thanks Wagger. It's just a case of familiarity. We sell them at work of course.

ps I also have Adiantum pedatum in the garden outside.

We're very lucky with the cross-section we have on this site - so much knowledge to call on in so many different areas. Familiarity will never breed contempt on here. :-)))

How do I say thanks?
