Spring bulbs

Thompson and Morgan have an offer on of free post and packaging ending this bank holiday Monday, but I'm afraid I don't have feedback for them as I tend to use garden centres etc. When I was looking online for bulbs I noticed that quite a few of the bulbs sold were more expensive than B&Q and the garden centres, and that was before post and packaging.

I recently ordered some bulbs on line from GardenXL. Postage and packaging is free.
I liked the information they provided for each plant and have ordered species tulips, hyacinths and dwarf iris. Not received them yet but they rang me to say approximately when they will be dispatched.(Good service) Worth a look and internet buying is so pleasant.

The daily mail had a free 100 spring bulbs and 3 clematis plants offer last saturday and free plants every day this week. Today its 74 mixed dutch Irises and 10 scented Hyacinths and no tokens to collect so I have already sent off for the bulbs. Guess who will be switching to the mail for a week.

I have been buying spring bulbs by mail order for more than 15 years. I have long found the best priced are jparkers.co.uk Their special offers are very discounted. Never a problem with quality.

I've used Jacques Amand for several years and have been very pleased with their service.

Several members have had problems with T&M not sending the things that were ordered and their customer service can be a bit hit and miss.

JParkers are good (and cheap) for bulbs but be aware that the plants they sell are generally on the small side

Ive used them both with very good results, service and bulbs

as well as the afore mentioned ones there is also Van meun and bloms bulbs too. I have never had a problem except for some damaged lilies from Parkers. When i rang to tell them they sent me replacements and told me to plant the others and if they grew i had a bonus. there plants can be small but i have found them to be good on the whole.

I use Gee-Tee ... they are wholesale suppliers. 100 daff bulbs from £ 6 + VAT ... can't be beaten! Lovely range too.

I also order special miniature bulbs from a co. called miniaturebulbs.co.uk ... but these are more specialised (and expensive).

Daily Telegraph and Gardeners' World mag always do free bulb offers (just pay P+P) supplied by Thompson and Morgan but I find the quality questionable .. a load of summer-flowering bulbs that came from T&M this year produced precisely 0 flowers other than the oxalis. If you go to T&M website and /gwm you will see what offers they have for GW readers.
