I recieved this clematis by post today...it was in a tiny pot...one tiny stalk, with a few leaves at the top, which was broken off.....the stalk is only about 2" long...i must say it doesnt look very promising....should i pot it on and hope for the best, plant it in its chosen spot or contact the mail-order firm i got it from...any advice would be helpful...:>)

Hello Motinot,
Interesting to see your q because I've just been browsing through the section of this website which has reviews by users of different mail order companies - very eye-opening!
Definitely take a few pictures of the state of the plant and also packaging if you feel it was inadequate. Note down any other details if relevant - eg delayed delivery, or who you speak to on the phone with your enquiry. It's time some companies woke up to the fact that poor service will lose them customers.

Thanks Weeding, I have bought many plants on-line over the years and only once or twice has there been a problem...I will take your advice and do as you suggest....thanks...:>)

I would definately complain but I would pot the clematis up aswell. They won't want it back and I am a believer that where there is life there is hope! You have nothing to lose.

Agree with Weedpatch on both counts.

ooh even better, if they dont ask for it back then you get to nurse it back to health and either get a new one or your money back
