I have a 15 year old Virgina Creeper I need to get rid of. Health issues now prevent me from climbing and cutting it back from nieghbours property etc. I would struggle to dig the root from the ground. Any ideas? the base is about 15cm thick. I could possibly saw through it but what do I do then? Please help any suggestions most welcome.

When I removed the one from our house I cut the trunk as close to the ground as possible. I don't remeber if I used a stump killer afterwards or not but it did not grow back. The hardest bit was pulling all the twigs off the wall.

Its easiest if you leave the growth on the wall until its really dead, when it will be easier to pull off.
