I am trying to do a blog and all was going hunky dory in a slow fashion until I tried to insert another photo within the previous text. I will only appear at the end of the blog, how do I get it to appear where I want it to? I am afraid of messing up the rest of it as it's taken ages so far! HELP!

I have a feeling you have to put the photo where you want it in the first place, that you may not be able to insert it once you've done the text. Am gonna have a go now to see if that's the case, I've never tried doing it.
Can you not just put a note next to the text you've done directing readers to the right picture to save doing it all again? (I'm a proper typist so its not an issue for me to retype things, but I know what a pain it can be for those who aren't)

Yep just tried it, and you're right, you can't go back and insert a picture. Have to be a direction footnote then - number the picture, put the number in the note.

I don't think you're able to insert pictures into previously written text.
You have to write and then follow it with the picture.
You can though write some text, insert pictures and ..... because there are always gaps/spaces before the picture .... you can then write more text in those spaces/lines.

You can, by going on to continue editing, copy and paste a photo to where you want it but you must make sure you get the whole reference including the exclamation marks at front and end!

Might try that then - I think I understand it, but what exclamation marks? Unless you mean quotation marks Paul?

Well, you've made me think now. Aren't there exclamation marks at the front and end of photo reference. Perhaps I'm mistaken but whichever marks they are, you need to get them in when copy/paste not just the number. Hope that helps. That's what I've done when I've written a blog(I'm just about to start one now actually) and then added photos which then always come at end. Main thing is to remember to regularly save the draft so you don't lose it if anything goes wrong!
Good luck!

It's like writing a script really. Before you start, decide where in the dialogue you want the pictures to be. Write your first piece of dialogue; insert your picture. Then write your next piece of dialogue; insert your next picture. If you want to caption your pic. write the caption before you continue with your dialogue.
And this is from someone who, only a few weeks ago was asking Goyers for help inserting photos!
As I've said before, if I can do it, anyone can. Yes, there ARE exclamation marks at each end of the jpg references, and I think they're vital but I haven't quite figured out how, yet...LoL

Many thanks to all for coming to my aid.Yes Bamboo and BBB that's what I did, text, photo, text etc and all was well until I decided to insert another photo. I couldn't do it so left it at the end with caption as you suggested. Then in my final edit I somehow 'lost' one of the other photos and to put that at the end too looked a real mess. By the time I had your answers and then learnt how to 'cut and paste' my brain was completely addled and I had squiggly migraine lines in front of my eyes so had to give up! ( had been at it for hours!) Anyway, I think I've got the technique now and know what you mean about exclamation marks Paul.

I seemed to have filled up my allotted space in the previous comment. I think I will leave it till tomorrow when my brain has recovered to add the last photo and finish it off. Thank you also Louise for the tips. I hope that after all this some of you will find it interesting!!!

Yes, Lily if you leave one out, it won't copy. I've just this minute published my blog and I put the pictures in as I went but , as I said earlier, if you foget a picture you can put it in at the end and copy/paste it to where you want it! Highlight reference, including exclamation marks, hit ctrl and c buttons together and then click where you want it then ctrl and v buttons . Don't forget to delete reference at bottom where you don't want it!!

i have highlighted the text and holding the mouse dragged the script to where i want it in relation to the image. just as you would in a word document.

I'm even more tired, I've just successfully DONE IT!!! Need to go for a lie down now. I had to start again in the end but used the 'proper' computer instead of the laptop, so much easier and more controllable for that sort of thing. Thanks again to all for taking the time to help me, I must do it again soon before I forget how to!
