Thanks, Libet...Dd - this came from the Plant Fair. We'll have to wait until next year to see what happens then! ;-)

I reckon it would be worth tracking down some bulbs in the autumn. :-))

28 Mar, 2011

Yes, I thought so too. :-)

Ooh...I love it!!!

28 Mar, 2011

We grew them last year, stored them and planted them last autumn no problems as such, they do like a sunny spot.

28 Mar, 2011

Why did you lift them, Dd? Yes, they are in the sun (when it's out!)

What a good idea. Yorks. :-)

Spritz...my Mertensias are up above the ground. Now, I seem to recall this is the second time yours has disappeared, so I wonder if it is just too warm for it in Somerset in the summer, or perhaps the wrong type of soil?

Thanks, M.

Karen - this is their first year, as you sent them last year. The soil should be OK - it's good neutral stuff. I can't explain it. It's just sad. :-(

I love these! Had never seen them before!

2 Apr, 2011

Nor had I, Raquel. I've taken a real fancy to them. :-)

2 Apr, 2011

I really love all the little species tulips.

2 Apr, 2011

I found where I'd planted the other species tulips - they're on their way up, Karen! :-))))

3 Apr, 2011

Really lovely and so unusual, I have never seen them before either!

3 Apr, 2011

B, I know I only sent mine to you last year, but didn't you tell me that you'd had one before that and it had also disappeared?

3 Apr, 2011

A lovely species Tulip Spritz, Kew has them but I'm sure yours look better!

3 Apr, 2011

Thanks for that! I now know where to buy bulbs from, so I'll be getting some more in the autumn.

Karen, no, I hadn't grown Mertensia before you sent me some. I'm so sad about losing it. :-(

3 Apr, 2011

It is sad B. I'm sorry it's gone.

3 Apr, 2011

Me too. :-(
