Salvia discolor.

Salvia discolor. (Salvia discolor)

This is a tender Salvia - I was misled by the plant label and the Nursery! It has olive green leaves and indigo-black flowers.

How long have you been growing this one spritz? I bought salvia 'Hot Lips' earlier today which ought to be hardy (with me)

I am afraid I fell for it when I was looking for a memorial rose to give to Mum's Care Home last week. My books and the net all say it is VERY tender! I think you will be OK with 'Hot Lips' - I have three similar to it and they seem to be hardy (fingers crossed).

'Hot Lips' is a x jamensis hybrid - I already have two or three of them so as you say fingers crossed, this one should be OK too. I can see why you fell for S.discolor though - I'd have been tempted too

Thanks for that bit of info - I learn something new every day (which is how it should be!) so I shall have to re-name some of my Salvias.....I've checked and I haven't even put them into 'my garden'! Whoops!
