Really beautiful. I'm painting rock primulas at the moment but you can't beat the real thing.

I usually scorn the cultivated forms of the Primrose but these are really beautiful. Where did they come from?

I've had these for many years (20) and believe they came from my father's garden . They are short plants, early bloomers, and grow into good sized clumps.

Plants with a history are the best of all. I have a Camellia from my parents garden and Hesperis which seeds around my garden which were always a great memory of childhood. The smell is so evocative, mmmmmmm.. must post it when it flowers.

What else?

See who else is growing Primula vulgaris (Native primrose).

See who else has plants in genus Primula.
