Quite possibly, Jacque. Although, on my way to a client this week, I saw a front garden with dozens of these exactly the same planted very neatly in formation. I think I may knock on their door and see what it was they had sown - I'd like to know if they were from a poppy head they had kept. A few more of these have popped up in our garden too.

I have some very similar poppy's growing wild outside my garden, My friend in Cambridge has them growing all over her village - so I threw down my seeds willie-nilly and hoped for the best and each year I have a fine display of mixed poppy's growing along the grass verge.Chung

Sounds perfect. I'm glade you mentioned the same growing all over Cambridge as I also keep seeing them around here too. I'm keeping one seed head back for next year ... I have a spot where they will come in very handy :)

See who else is growing Papaver somniferum (Opium poppy).

See who else has plants in genus Papaver.
