Oh, what a shame, and Muffin isn't that tall! Rephrase the question - how many buds were on the stalk?

There were 2 buds,wondering now if it was the wind, we have a new cat visitor very pretty thing but I keep finding it asleep or sunbathing in different spots in the borders and there are a few squashed plants.

Siris

I have seen Bluetits hanging off the stems of some of my Iris, because in the bud sheaths this year there has been green fly, probably because of the wet earlier in the year.
