Iris foetidissima var citrina

Iris foetidissima var citrina (Iris foetidissima)

Our native stinking gladwyn. An iris for shade or woodland. Mine proved reluctant to flower at first but a healthy feed with garden compost one spring has made it happy

I didn't know any iris could grow in the shade. I have never hear of this particular kind of iris. Do they grow in the States. I'm in the mountains of
North Carolina. Would like to try this as I love iris

Valerie - they come from around the Meditteranean Sea and North Africa so I'm not sure how much cold they could take in winter. Having said that, they grow quite happily in much of the UK
